Systematic review of cuckoo bumblebee research reveals data gaps and understudied species

چکیده
Cuckoo bumblebees (Bombus subgenus Psithyrus) are social parasites that have lost the ability to establish their own nests, and instead usurp nest of a bumblebee host reproduce. Accordingly, they entirely dependent upon species complete life cycle, therefore vulnerable co–extinction. Despite this, current consensus is there remains much we do not know about fundamental ecology many cuckoo species, which crucial for conservation. To investigate data gaps bumblebees, conducted systematic review quantify peer-reviewed literature has been produced, including most studied disciplines explored. Over half all Psithyrus were represented in fewer than 10 publications each, 2 listed as Critically Endangered by IUCN. Research on heavily weighted towards Europe European while Asian under-represented. Key research areas such behaviour received little attention majority may hamper conservation efforts Our results quantitatively support observations made other scarcity highlight need further whom knowledge missing—particularly light vulnerability this extinction.

Sentiment analysis is widely adopted in studying various important topics in business intelligence. Though many studies reported interesting results by using machine learning, the lack of theoretic analysis and the shortage of practical guidance are hurdles of theory development. Besides, due to the difficulty in labelling data, the effectiveness of sentiment analysis with only labelled data ne...
متن کاملInsecticide Resistence of Bumblebee Species
Bumblebees are important pollinators of many crops and wild flowers and there are both conservation and economic reasons for taking action to assess the impact of pesticides on bumblebees. Pesticide risk assessments for honeybees are based on hazard ratios which rely on application rates and toxicity data and are unlikely to be appropriate for bumblebees. Bumblebees are active at different time...
متن کاملIdentifying otolaryngology systematic review research gaps: comparing Global Burden of Disease 2010 results with Cochrane Database of Systematic Review content.
IMPORTANCE Burden of disease should inform research prioritization. OBJECTIVE To determine whether systematic reviews and protocols published in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR) appropriately reflect disease burden for otolaryngologic conditions as measured by the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2010 project. DESIGN Two investigators independently assessed 10 otolaryngologi...

Aspergillus fumigatus is a saprophyte fungus, widely spread in a variety of ecologicalniches and the most prevalent aspergilli responsible for human and animal invasiveaspergillosis. The first step to develop novel and efficient therapies is the identificationand understanding of the key tolerance and virulence factors of pathogens. The mainfocus of the present study is to perform the similarit...
